Still It Moves. [Part II]

To the legions of Philes worldwide “all things” is often held as the monumental glimpse into Scully’s and Mulder’s first night as lovers. We respectfully dissent to that opinion. Akin to our take on “Millennium,” we feel that the simplicity of the situation shown to us is indicative of the fact that it was not a key moment for being the first incident of the sort but was important to show to us due to the emotional growth of the characters on that occasion.

Still It Moves. [Part I]

We would like to briefly preface this next entry with what he hoped was already obvious, however, we’d like to reiterate that everything we write here is merely our interpretations based on years of observation. It is what we believe, yet in putting these thoughts initially onto various message boards regarding The X-Files and subsequently into this blog, our intention is not to coerce others into holding our personal ideas as gospel truth. Our hope is that an individual may be able to come away from our blog with a renewed sense of wonder for the series. Perhaps we will open up one more window of possibility for the scenarios that the creator and writers have laid out for us. More than anything, we wish to divulge what The X-Files has given to us: courage, strength, hope, belief. The ability and the desire to see beyond the “world we can hold in our hands.”

Existence.

We have surmised that the “Per Manum” flashbacks transpired over a period of time throughout the general Season 7 timeframe, thus we have broken this down somewhat scene-by-scene. EmmCee’s “Per Manum” Timeline [delayed a week by our being completely consumed by Big Light]:

More Than This.

We proudly present to you an extended version of the timeline regarding relationship consummation that we posted on XFU, something we are wont to excogitate and will gladly debate:

Syzygy.

We thought it would be more than appropriate to debut our blog on the day that marks ten years since the inception of our face-to-face friendship — our friendaversary, if you will. Exactly ten years ago today on Friday, May 08th, we hurried home from school so that we could get to the mall and meet each other. We immediately realized that we share a brain and are basically the same person.

Since that spring afternoon one decade ago, we’ve spent countless hours watching The X-Files, obsessing over The X-Files, analyzing all things on The X-Files. Such is our love of dissecting and theorizing about events that transpired on the series, we will finally be putting all of our thoughts together on this blog. [A special thanks to the members of XFU for encouraging us to get this thing going!!]

As the days and weeks unfold leading up to 07.25.2008, please keep checking back, as we’ll be adding our timelines and episode analyses. Ideally we’ll have everything up by that monumental date, so that we may focus what will likely be several entries on all things I Want To Believe.

Thank you to everyone involved … our lives would be far less interesting, and we’d be entirely different people in entirely different places, if not for The X-Files and one another.
